Meet the Team

Working with Schneider Development, you’ll have the opportunity to meet everyone on our team. In the first phase, as you begin to get your ideas on paper and define the scope of the project you’ll work closely with Jim and Chris:

Jim Schneider- Principle Builder
Jim Schneider has an un-paralleled commitment to quality in every detail and is involved in each and every project. He works closely with homeowners during the initial design and planning of the home. Although clients will work with others on the team during the design phase, they’ll interact with Jim extensively throughout their project to ensure that decisions made at the onset of the building process remain consistent with the final product.

Jim and his family moved to Virginia in 2003 after more than 20 years of building homes in the Northeast. They quickly fell in love with the charm and pace of the Eastern Shore, and the nearby metropolitan offerings of Virginia Beach and Norfolk.

Chris Schwab- Business Development
As Business Development Director, Chris Schwab is a new addition to the Schneider family and is one of our best examples of customer satisfaction. She was so impressed with the custom home Schneider Development built for her and her husband, she joined the team! Chris has gone through the construction process as a client and appreciates the custom home features, personal service and constant communication that set Schneider Development apart.

“I look forward to providing for future clients the same satisfaction our family experienced during our building process,” she said. Chris joined the team after a career in school administration (she holds a Master’s Degree in Education Administration) and an earlier career in real estate.

As the project starts rolling, the permits are requested, the dirt starts moving, we hold a Kickoff Meeting and you’ll meet Kate:

Kate Brown- Project Advisor (a.k..a. Selection Sherpa)
Kate Brown works closely with clients throughout the selection process to facilitate the hundreds of decisions for fixtures, finishes, and other options. Kate’s expertise and advice ensure that a Schneider home mirrors the lifestyle of each of our clients. Kate is in constant communication with the client during the project. As selection decisions are made, Kate then translates the information for the field arm of the organization who rely on the clear description and instruction to build what each client requests.

Kate has been with Schneider Development since 2005, after busy careers in Washington DC and Dallas, Texas. Before joining the team Kate worked in “virtual construction” as a web project manager and information architect.

He’s been with Schneider Development since 2006. He “plays well with others.” Andy and his family moved to the Eastern Shore from the hustle and bustle of Fairfax County. He prefers the Bay to the Beltway.

We work with a large team of talented subcontractors. Many specialty trades work to build your new home or addition. Several aspects of construction are handled by our own talented in-house staff. You’ll meet Andy as the house progresses:

Andy Buchholz- Warranty Manager / Assistant Site Supervisor
As our Warranty Manager, Andy Buccholz will meet with each client at the final walk-through, the 6-week walk-through, and the 11-month walk-through to review and identify warranty issues. He then oversees the staff and subcontractors to get it all done. As Assistant Site Supervisor he helps manage each project on site to increase our efficiency.

His most useful tool… his cell phone! He works closely with Jim on site providing detailed assessments of the day-to-day events that take place, especially as they relate to continued productivity and progress.

Once the project is complete, we don’t disappear. The extensive warranty period brings us back through the first year. Besides that, the whole team looks forward to seeing you each year at our Family Picnic!
